2024 Paralympics: Team Nigeria Knocked Out of Para Table Tennis Doubles & Mixed Double

Team Nigeria’s Kayode Alabi and Victor Farinloye were eliminated from the Para Table Tennis doubles competition at the ongoing Paralympics in Paris.

The pair lost 3-0 to China’s Huang Jiaxin and Peng Weinan in the round of 16, with set scores of 11-9, 11-5, and 11-8.

In the mixed doubles, Team Nigeria also faced defeat. Alabi, partnering with Faith Obazuaye, was beaten by Great Britain’s Joshua Stacey and Bly Twomey in the round of 16.

After losing the first game 11-6, Alabi and Obazuaye fought back to win the second game 11-7, leveling the match at 1-1.

However, Stacey and Twomey secured the victory by winning the next two sets 11-6, 11-6, advancing to the next round.
