2024 US Open: Fritz, Tiafoe Set For Historic All-American Semifinal Showdown

American tennis stars, Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe, are set to clash in the semifinal of the 2024 US Open on Friday, September 6, at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

This match marks a significant milestone for U.S. tennis, as it is the first time two American men have reached the semifinals of the tournament since 2005.

Tiafoe, as reported by ESPN, reflected on their journey together as they anticipate the semifinal showdown.

“Taylor and I had a conversation about being the top two Americans for a long time. We’ve pushed each other, and now we get to compete in such a big match. It’s going to be epic,” he said.

Fritz holds a strong edge in their head-to-head record, having won six of their seven meetings, including a straight-sets victory in their only Grand Slam encounter at the 2022 Australian Open. Tiafoe’s lone win came in 2016 at Indian Wells.
