What You Need to Know About Super Falcons Interim Head Coach, Justin Madugu

Justin Madugu was named as the interim head coach of Nigeria’s Senior WNT, the Super Falcons, following the end of Randy Waldrum’s tenure, returning to the role for a second time.

With over a decade of experience in Nigerian football, both at club and national team levels, Madugu brings a lot of expertise to the role.

Madugu, a former footballer himself, holds advanced coaching certifications.

He is a CAF A and B licensed coach who has taken numerous coaching courses, including

– NFF/CAF Football Coaching Course,

– Tiki Taka Football Development Course,

– National Football Coach Seminar, and

– Globacom Premier League International Seminar.

He also holds academic degrees in sports psychology, management, and public administration.

Justin Madugu worked as an assistant coach under Former Super Falcons head coach, Randy Waldrum.

Madugu was part of the coaching team for Nigeria’s U20 Women’s team and the Super Eagles B team.

He has also been part of the Super Falcons’ coaching staff for multiple editions of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where he helped Nigeria win two gold medals.

Additionally, he has participated in several FIFA Women’s World Cups, notably with Nigeria’s U-17 and U20 squads.

Madugu has worked for several teams, including

-Flying Makwada FC Numan (Chief Coach),

-Makwada FC (Chief/Head/Assistant Coach),

-Adamawa United FC (Technical Adviser),

-Makwada Warriors and Makwada Queens (Technical Adviser/Team Manager), and

-FC Taraba.

Madugu’s appointment is expected to be temporary while the NFF seeks a permanent head coach.

Meanwhile, he will lead the Falcons through the upcoming Women’s AFCON and Olympic qualifiers​
