Libya national team captain, Faisal Al-Badri has declared that his team is fully focused on business as they prepare to take on the Super Eagles on Friday, aiming to secure all three points in the crucial AFCON qualifier.
The Mediterranean Knights will face Nigeria in Matchday 3 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Uyo.
With Libya currently sitting at the bottom of the group table, there is added pressure as they go up against Group D leaders, Nigeria, who have home advantage.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference on Thursday, Al-Badri emphasized that Libya is in Uyo with the clear intention of securing a victory.
“We are very ready, and we here with the intention to win. We are well-prepared,” the player stated.
“By the highest grace of God, we will give our best. But if we lose, we will take it in the spirit of sportsmanship.”
He concluded, “We are ready to play, and we will give our best effort on the pitch.”
The Super Eagles will face Libya at 5pm on Friday, October 11, in a match that promises to be a hard-fought battle for the three points.
Four days later, on October 15, both teams will meet again for the reverse fixture in Libya.
