Andres Iniesta Officially Retires from Professional Football

Spanish football legend, Andres Iniesta has officially announced his retirement.
The Barcelona great confirmed the news on Tuesday, bringing an end of a remarkable career.
Iniesta, who earned 131 international caps for Spain, is remembered for his historic goal in the 2010 FIFA World Cup final, which secured Spain’s first-ever World Cup title.

He was also a key part of the national team’s triumphs at the UEFA European Championships in 2008 and 2012.
At club level, Iniesta began his journey at Barcelona’s renowned La Masia academy and made his senior debut in 2002.
Over 16 years at the club, he won 29 major titles, including nine La Liga championships and four UEFA Champions League trophies.

In 2018, Iniesta moved to Japan, joining Vissel Kobe, where he played until 2023 before transferring to UAE Pro League side Emirates Club.

After a brief stint in the UAE, Iniesta has now decided to step away from the game.
