Boniface Scores Match-Winning Goal as Leverkusen Edges Past Milan
A Bayer Leverkusen attacker, Victor Boniface, scored the only goal as the team defeated AC Milan 1-0 at the BayArena on Tuesday night.
This is Nigeria’s first UEFA Winners League goal for the Bundesliga winners. Boniface scored the winning goal in the 51st minute of play. Martin Terrier took over for the 23-year-old with 15 minutes remaining.
Nathan Tella, his international teammate, replaced Florian Wrtiz with one minute remaining.
Bayer Leverkusen began their competitive campaign this season with a 4-0 defeat against Eredivisie winners Feyenoord.
AC Milan left another Nigerian, Samuel Chukwueze, on the bench for the whole game.
