Carabao Cup: Nwaneri Scores As Arsenal Thrash Preston, Newcastle Defeat Chelsea

Arsenal cruised into the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup after defeating Preston 3-0 away on Wednesday.

Gabriel Jesus, Ethan Nwaneri and Kai Havertz were the scorers for Arsenal.

Jesus opened the scoring in the 24th minute before Nwaneri doubled the lead on 33 minutes.

Then Havertz secured the win by adding the third goal in the 57th minute.

The game saw the return of William Saliba in Arsenal’s defence after he missed the 2-2 draw against Liverpool due to suspension.

For Jesus it is his first goal of the campaign which he took with a sweet volley.

At St. James’Park Newcastle United defeated Chelsea thanks to two first half goals.

Alexander Isak gave the Magpies the lead on 23 minutes before an own goal by Axel Disasi made it 2-0.
