Confident Flamingos ready for FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Opener against New Zealand
Flamingos head coach, Bankole Olowookere, has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness ahead of their first match at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Nigeria will face New Zealand at the CFC Stadium in Santiago de los Caballeros on Wednesday night (today), with the match set to kick off at 9 p.m. Nigeria time.
“I have confidence in the girls to deliver the goods at this competition. We have come well-prepared to do even better than we did in India,” Olowookere told thenff.com.
The Flamingos are placed in Group A and will also face the Dominican Republic and Ecuador in the group stage.
Their next game will be against Ecuador on Saturday, 19th October, followed by a clash with hosts Dominican Republic on Tuesday, 22nd October.
