Conor McGregor forgets about UFC comeback drama as he sends message to Dana White about ‘Irish goer’
Conor McGregor has put aside his differences with the UFC and implored them to sign a potential Irish superstar.
Notorious, who has been sidelined for over three years, is at odds with UFC boss Dana White as they struggle to agree on a suitable comeback date.
McGregor wants to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 310 in December – but White has publicly claimed the former dual-weight champion won’t return until 2025.
Amid the dispute, the 36-year-old dropped a massive hint that he will take up bare-knuckle boxing once he ‘gets free’ from his UFC deal, which currently has two fights left on it.
Despite everything, McGregor is still trying to help bolster the UFC roster.
On Monday evening, he took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to shine a light on 9-2 Irish fighter Danni McCormack following her recent win at a ‘Road to UFC’ show.
The former two-time Invicta strawweight champion outpointed Qihui Yan over three rounds before getting on the mic and delivering a McGregor-esque post-fight interview.
After her victory, McCormack said: “I wanted a finish, but at the very least let’s get some blood going and let’s f***ing fight because I swear to God that’s who I am.
“I don’t know why I’m not already in the UFC because that’s what I’ve been doing for the last 10 fights. That’s who I am, whether I win or lose I’m going to f***ing fight. That’s why I’m playing this game, I don’t give a f*** about money.
“I’m here because I want to get in, get dirty, see who’s better and get some f***ing blood going and if I get the finish all the better, but to be honest I like the hardship – I like to go, I don’t want to just stop, I want to fight!”
McGregor, clearly impressed with the 34-year-old, posted footage of her fight highlights and post-fight interview alongside a message to White.
He tweeted: “THIS IS A PROMO! In at the drop of a hat to beat and maul the much bigger girl.
“Finishing with a call out of the UFC’s current strawweight champion who is from the same region as her just beaten opponent. Magic! IRISH GOER WAR CRY!”
“Dana White announce her signing brother this is magic!”
He added: “We’ll f***ing mow them down, Dana White! ÉIRE!!!!”
McCormack reposted McGregor’s epic endorsement and added a message for White and his matchmakers, Mick Maynard and Sean Shelby.
She wrote: “Deny me no longer, I am ready RIGHT NOW!”
“I will take any fight in the UFC. Strawweight or Flyweight against ANYONE! I will go to war again and again, and I will beat them ALL!
“Deny me no longer I have proved my worth.”
