Dave Portnoy Calls Out Zach Bryan With Major Taylor Swift Reference

Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia may be going through a breakup, but her team at Barstool has her back — and couldn’t resist making a relevant Taylor Swift reference.
On Tuesday, October 22, country singer Zach Bryan took to his Instagram Story to reveal that he and Chickenfry had broken up.
“I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways,” Bryan wrote. “I am not perfect and never will be. Please respect Brianna’s privacy and space in this and if you have it in your heart, mine too. Wrapping up his thoughts, Bryan said, “With everything I am and to anyone I let down, I am sorry. I try my best in everything. I failed people that love me and mostly myself.”
Following the news, Barstool founder Dave Portnoy took to X (formerly Twitter) to support Chickenfry — with the help of one of Swift’s most blunt songs.
“Dedicating this to @BChickenfry,” Portnoy wrote in an X post, with a link to Swift’s song “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” from her most recent album The Tortured Poets Department. This particular album cut is one of Swift’s more brutal tracks, containing lyrics like “in plain sight you hid / But you are what you did / And I’ll forget you, but I’ll never forgive / The smallest man who ever lived.”
Portnoy’s emotional support comes after prominent fan theories that the “Pink Skies” hitmaker was unfaithful to Chickenfry during their relationship. Some people even claimed they saw his profile on the dating app Raya.
Later on Tuesday, Chickenfry posted a YouTube video, saying Bryan’s decision to post the news on his Story took her by surprise.
“I just woke up to Zach posting on his Instagram that we broke up and I had no idea that post was going up. He didn’t text me, he didn’t call me. I just woke up to a bunch of texts, like, ‘Are you okay?'” she said.
Chickenfry continued, thanking her followers for support and saying she still plans to take a social media hiatus. “When I’m ready to talk about everything that happened, I will, but right now I’m just completely blindsided.”
