Enugu Rangers Secure Narrow Victory Over Sagrada Esperanza In CAF Champions League
Nigeria champions, Enugu Rangers returned to the continent on Friday in the CAF Champions League and recorded a narrow 1- 0 victory over their visitor Sagrada Esperanca of Angola, Sports 247 reports.
The match which was played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Friday saw the Fidelis Ilechukwu side laboured to a 1-0 victory in the first leg , second Preliminary stage of the 2024/2025 CAF Champions League.
Despite Enugu Rangers domination of the game , they found it hard to break down the Angolan side all thanks to Kazeem Ogunleye who came from the bench to secure the needed victory for the Flying Antelopes.
The Flying Antelopes need to do more in the second half next weekend if they are progress as they fail to convert the numerous chances that came their way as Rangers will be looking to be the first Nigeria side to make the group stage of the competition in the four years.
However, for this to happen the Flying Antelopes must overcome their goal scoring issues which has seen them score only two goals from open in the four matches played this season in all competitions.
