Ezinne Kalu Shines in WNBA Debut, Helps Atlanta Dream Clinch Playoff Spot

D’Tigress star Ezinne Kalu made her debut for the Atlanta Dream, Friday, in a 78-67 victory over the New York Liberty at the Barclays Center.

The 32 year-old guard was signed by the Dream on Thursday, following her impressive showing with Nigeria during their Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Kalu entered the game in the second half, contributing to the Dream’s win and helping the team secure the final playoff spot in the WNBA.

She played 13 minutes, recording three points and one rebound.

Kalu joined the team on a seven-day hardship contract, bringing a wealth of experience from her time with the Tigers, where she played from 2010 to 2015.

During her college career, she scored 2,119 points and led the Tigers to their first-ever Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) tournament title, as well as an appearance in the NCAA Division I tournament.
