Falconets Ready for Japan Showdown, Says Coach Danjuma

Nigeria U20 WNT head coach, Chris Danjuma has declared his team’s readiness for their Round of 16 clash against Japan in the World Cup.

The match is set to take place at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo in Bogota on Friday morning.

 

 

 

Japan, who topped Group E with a perfect nine points from three matches, will face a Nigerian side that finished second in Group D, behind Germany.

The Falconets arrived in Bogota on Tuesday, with Coach Danjuma expressing confidence in his squad’s preparation and determination to secure a victory.

 

 

 

“The girls have worked very hard to get to this stage and we are proud of their efforts. We will be taking the knockout stages one match at a time,” Danjuma said in an interview with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

 

 

 

He added, “We are excited at the prospect of facing Japan and what that challenge brings.”

 

 

 

The Falconets will be aiming to advance to the quarter-finals of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup tournament with a win over the formidable Japanese team.
