The Flying Eagles continued their preparation for the upcoming WAFU B U-20 Championship with a 2-1 victory over Grassrunners FC in a friendly match at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
The match, part of their final training phase, is in line with Coach Zubairu Aliyu’s efforts to fine-tune the team ahead of the AFCON U-20 qualifiers.
The team, which had shifted their training camp to Ikenne earlier this week, is stepping up preparations with a series of friendly matches.

Their victory over Grassrunners FC followed an earlier dominant 6-0 win over Morak FC during their training camp in Abuja.
The Flying Eagles are the defending champions of the WAFU B U-20 tournament, and they are grouped with Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire.
These preparatory matches are crucial as the team aims to defend their title and secure qualification for the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in 2025.
