The Kano State Hisbah Board, a religious security outfit in Nigeria, has fallen victim to a cyberattack. Hackers took over the official Facebook page of the organization, posting inappropriate and explicit media content that has sent shockwaves across the internet.

According to sources, the hackers have been sharing nude videos and other explicit content on the page, which has garnered a significant following of 63,000 likes and 82,000 followers. The public has expressed concerns over the development, with many calling for swift action to rectify the situation.

Confirming the hack, Commander General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, assured the public that the board is taking immediate action to address the issue. “We are aware that our Facebook page has been hacked and inappropriate things are being shared. We urge the public to help us resolve this problem,” he stated.

The board’s ICT department is actively working to restore the page and has engaged in discussions with Meta, the parent company of Facebook, to resolve the issue. Head of ICT at the Hisbah Board, Sani Zailani, revealed that the account had previously experienced hacks and that Meta had been contacted regarding the latest breach. He added that Meta has pledged to resolve the issue within 48 hours.

As the investigation continues, it remains to be seen how the hackers managed to breach the security measures of the Kano Hisbah Board’s Facebook page. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of robust cybersecurity measures in today’s digital age.
