‘Honestly, I’m done’ – Chidimma Adetshina quits pageantry
Miss Universe runner-up, Chidimma Adetshina, has revealed her decision to step away from the world of pageantry.
In a recent interview with Silverbird TV, Adetshina explained that her pageant journey has been overwhelming and challenging.
She cited personal reasons for her choice to quit and shared that she will be moving back to Nigeria from South Africa.
“Finishing in the top 2 [at the Miss Universe competition] is still a shocker for me… Honestly, I am done. Pageantry was a real traumatic experience for me,” she said.
“People still don’t understand how I felt. There were times when I almost quit during the Miss Universe contest. I’m really done with pageantry. I want to focus on myself and establish who I am. And forward my education as well.”
Despite coming in as first runner-up at Miss Universe, Chidimma Adetshina was recognized as Miss Universe Africa and Oceania. She also won the title of Miss Nigeria after facing criticism for her nationality during her participation in the Miss South Africa competition.
