Shodimu’s lamentation is comes after the significant increase in petrol prices after President Bola Tinubu scrapped subsidies in 2023.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) had earlier reported that Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) on September 3rd adjusted the petrol pump price at its filling stations in Lagos to ₦855 per liter.
The increase in petrol price comes days after the Nigeria-owned oil company cried out that its operations of solely importing refined petrol into the country have been hit hard.
NNPC, in its statement on Sunday, admitted also that it is finding it hard to meet its financial obligations to International Oil Companies (IOCs).
The upward adjustment was amid a petrol scarcity which continues to affect business activities nationwide.
