KABISA to Install ‘Fast Chargers’ for Electric Cars Across Rwanda

Before the year 2024, the KABISA Company, in partnership with Société Pétrolière [SP] and with support from Ireme Invest, will be installing ‘Fast Chargers’ to different sites of Rwanda. These chargers, comparable to gas stations for electric cars, will be strategically installed to make charging convenient and accessible for electric vehicle owners.

KABISA, a company specializing in electric vehicles and related services, has already sold more than 50 electric cars and installed over 23 public charging stations across the country. Among these stations are four high-capacity ‘Fast Chargers’ located in Rubavu, Musanze, Rugunga, and Nyarutarama.

In addition to selling electric cars and installing public charging stations, KABISA also offers maintenance and troubleshooting services for electric vehicles. The company works with brands like BYD  to provide a variety of electric vehicle options to customers.

The installation of ‘Fast Chargers’ has already begun in several districts, with plans to expand to even more sites in the near future. These high-capacity chargers will significantly reduce charging times for electric cars, making them more convenient and practical for everyday use.

Ruberambuga Remy, Sales Executive at KABISA, emphasized the company’s commitment to expanding their services across Rwanda. He highlighted the cost-saving benefits of owning an electric car, including lower fuel costs and reduced maintenance expenses.

As the government continues to support the adoption of electric vehicles through tariff incentives, KABISA aims to educate the public about the benefits of electric cars and make charging infrastructure more widely available. With plans to establish additional garages and training programs, KABISA is poised to play a significant role in the development of the electric vehicle market in Rwanda.
