Labour Party’s Akpata loses polling unit
Labour Party (LP) candidate, Olumide Akpata, faced a setback at his polling unit as he lost to the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Asue Ighodalo, according to results posted on INEC’s portal.
Additionally, the portal revealed that both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and PDP candidates are leading in their respective strongholds, with APC’s Monday Okpebholo gaining ground in Edo North and PDP’s Ighodalo ahead in Edo South.
In Unit 11, Ward 6 of the Oredo Local Government Area, Akpata’s LP garnered only 2 votes, while PDP secured 41, and APC achieved 19 votes.
So far, the results on the INEC platform indicate the APC is maintaining a lead in Edo North, while the PDP holds a strong advantage in Edo South.
For Etsako West Local Government Area, at the Igbira Camp Booth, APC led with 90 votes, followed by PDP with 85, and LP trailing with 13.
Meanwhile, in Owan West, at Ifidon by Bright in Sobe, APC recorded 90 votes, LP 13, and PDP 75. In Uhunmwonde Uvbenisi-Uvbenisi Primary School, APC secured 83 votes, LP 6, and PDP 47.
In Egor Local Government Area, at Paramount Nursery and Primary School Uselu II-IV, PDP took the lead with 22 votes, while APC followed closely with 17 votes.
In Oredo Local Government Area, New Benin, Unit 27, New Benin III/Payne Primary School, PDP garnered 56 votes, APC 36, and LP trailed with 5 votes.
At Ikpoba-Okha Ward 7, Unit 17, where PDP’s Deputy Governorship candidate, Osarodion Ogie Esq., voted, PDP overwhelmingly led with 216 votes, while APC managed only 29.
