Lagos restates commitment to housing project completion
The Lagos State Government has vowed to ensure all ongoing housing projects are built to the best standards and will be completed during the current administration.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, stated that when he led the technical team of the ministry on a tour of the ongoing Lagos HOMS housing project at Ajara in Badary recently.
The commissioner said, “The state government is committing to increasing the quantum of quality and decent homes available to the citizens of Lagos State, particularly the low and medium-income earners.”
While inspecting the 420 home units in 35 blocks of various categories of flats and interacting with contractors on site, he expressed his satisfaction with the quality and speed exhibited towards the delivery of the project.
He also informed the contractor to escalate any identified challenge for immediate resolution.
He stated, “The delivery time should be met as agreed so that the ministry can commission the project and hand it over to the allottees. The contractors should continue to use quality building materials that provide homeowners with convenience and maintenance cost-saving advantage.”
According to Akinderu-Fatai, the Lagos HOMS projects at Ajara, Badargy have been designed to take care of the home needs of Lagosians along the Lagos West Senatorial District of the state.
The commissioner assured, “All expectant home seekers in the state are all hands are on deck to ensure that the vision of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to substantially increase the housing stock for Lagosians is actualised.”
