Lagos returns 25% discount on food items at Sunday market
In line with the Lagos State Government’s Eko Care initiative, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered the implementation of a 25% discount on food items at the Sunday market, ‘Ounje Eko’, statewide.
This was disclosed in a statement shared on X.com by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, on Wednesday.
The statement reads, “Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has directed that the Sunday market Ounjè Eko with a 25% cut in prices should return on Sunday. Agric and Food Systems Commissioner Abisola Olusanya tells the media – all is set. Lagosians, are you ready?”
Accompanied with the statement is a video showing the Commissioner addressing the journalists.
The Commissioner also provided clarification on the 25% discount on food prices, stating that the deduction would be based on the prevailing market rates.
