Laughter on Lockdown to celebrate Nigeria’s Independence

The Africa Comedy Academy has announced the fifth edition of the popular comedy event– Laughter On Lockdown V!— with Zenith Bank returning as the title sponsor.

The organisers stated that the event, which will take place on October 1, 2024, with the theme, ‘For the Culture’, promises an extraordinary celebration of Nigerian talent, unity, and pride.

A statement sent to Saturday Beats read, “Conceptualised to unite Nigerians at home and abroad, the Independence Day event celebrates the nation’s renewed hope through humour, music and diversity.

“Headlining the event is the legendary Buchi, alongside comedic stars such as Forever, SLK, Dan D Humorous, HPrince, and social media sensation, Triclowns.

“Rising star, Chaka Chaka, will make his debut at the event, and the night will also feature a special appearance from TurnUpCommissioner, promising an evening of unforgettable laughter and entertainment.”

It added that Zenith Bank’s support for the event reaffirms its commitment to fostering national pride and unity.

“The bank aims to bring Nigerians together in celebration, reminding everyone of the enduring strength and resilience of the Nigerian spirit through LOL,” it stated.

Aside from comedy, the event will also feature musical performances, continuing the event’s tradition of spotlighting Nigeria’s finest talents in a vibrant mix of rhythm, laughter, and culture.
