Man Utd confirm Ruben Amorim as new manager
Manchester United has officially announced Ruben Amorim as their new manager. In a statement released on Friday, the Red Devils confirmed that Amorim will be staying with Sporting Lisbon until November 11th.
This means that his first game in charge will be a Premier League match against Ipswich Town.
The new manager has signed a contract with United until June 2027, with the option of an additional year. The club paid Sporting an extra €1m (£840,000) on top of his €10m (£8.4m) exit clause to release him early from his 30-day notice period.
He will be taking over from Erik ten Hag, who was dismissed on Monday. Ruud van Nistelrooy will continue to serve in an interim capacity until Amorim officially joins the team.
United’s next match is a league game at home against Chelsea on Sunday.
