New Sheriff In Town: Time For Us To Rise And Support,” Says Arm Wrestling Federation President Samuel Jackson As He Congratulates Chairman Shehu Dikko

Engineer Samuel Jackson, the President of the Nigeria Arm Wrestling Federation, has expressed enthusiastic support for the appointment of Mallam Shehu Dikko as the new Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC).

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today named Dikko to this prestigious role, which marks the re-establishment of the NSC, replacing the former Federal Ministry of Sports Development.

Jackson’s congratulatory message reflects his optimism about Dikko’s ability to lead Nigerian sports into a new era.

He described Dikko’s appointment as a fresh opportunity for unity and progress within the sports community, which has experienced challenges in recent years.

“There’s a new sheriff in town,” Jackson declared, calling on sports stakeholders across the nation to “rise and support” Dikko as he embarks on this critical leadership journey.

Jackson, a prominent figure in African arm wrestling, has played a crucial role in the development of the sport in Nigeria. Under his leadership, Nigeria has seen significant success in arm wrestling, most notably during the 13th African Games, where the national team clinched several medals. In his congratulatory remarks, Jackson emphasized the importance of rallying support for Dikko, expressing confidence that the sports community must come together to achieve greater heights under his leadership.

He also framed Dikko’s new role as a “call to selfless service,” underscoring that this position is more than just a title but an opportunity to elevate Nigerian sports on both national and international stages. Jackson concluded by affirming the Arm Wrestling Federation’s commitment to work alongside Dikko in making Nigerian sports a force to be reckoned with.

With Dikko’s extensive background as Chairman of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and Vice President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), hopes are high for a revitalized sports sector under his leadership.
