NFF appoints Aliyu Zubairu as head coach of Flying Eagles

The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially approved the appointment of Aliyu Zubairu as the Head Coach of the National U20 Boys, the Flying Eagles. This decision follows the recommendation made by the NFF’s Technical and Development Sub-Committee.

Zubairu, who recently led El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri to victory in the President Federation Cup, where they triumphed over Abia Warriors FC in Lagos this past June, is set to begin his new role with immediate effect.

His immediate responsibility will be to assemble and prepare a formidable team for the upcoming WAFU B U20 Championship, which is scheduled to take place in Togo between October and November. This tournament will serve as the qualification pathway for the zone’s representative at the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations.

Zubairu’s experience and recent success at the club level have made him a promising choice to lead the Flying Eagles as they aim to secure a spot in next year’s continental showpiece.
