NiMet Predicts 3-Day Thunderstorm And Rain Across Nigeria

Abuja, Nigeria – The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has released a weather outlook predicting thunderstorms and rainfall across various regions of the country from Sunday to Tuesday.
The forecast, issued on Saturday, highlights potential weather patterns in both the northern and central regions of Nigeria.
Sunday: In the northern region, early morning thunderstorms are expected in Borno, Jigawa, Taraba, Adamawa, Bauchi, and Gombe states. These conditions are predicted to extend throughout the day, with thunderstorms persisting into the evening.
For the North Central region, thunderstorms accompanied by rain are forecasted in parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Benue, Nasarawa, and Plateau states during the morning hours. By afternoon, these conditions are expected to spread across the entire region. Southern cities will experience cloudy skies in the morning, followed by intermittent rain later in the day.
Monday: NiMet predicts that parts of Gombe, Bauchi, Taraba, Adamawa, Yobe, and Jigawa states will experience morning thunderstorms. The northern region will continue to witness thunderstorms later in the day.
In the North Central region, morning thunderstorms with rain are expected in parts of the FCT, Kogi, Niger, and Kwara states. Later in the day, these conditions will persist in the FCT, Plateau, and Niger states, with southern states experiencing cloudy skies and intermittent rain.
Tuesday: On Tuesday, NiMet forecasts morning thunderstorms in parts of Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, and Kaduna states in the northern region. Cloudy skies are expected to follow later in the day.
For the North Central region, thunderstorms with rain are predicted over parts of Niger and Kwara states in the morning, spreading to Kogi, the FCT, and Benue states by afternoon and evening. Intermittent rain is expected throughout the day in the southern region.
