NNPC Boss, Mele Kyari loses 25-year-old daughter

Mele Kyari, the Group CEO of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), has lost his daughter Fatima.

Fatima, 25, was reported to have died on Friday, October 11 in Abuja.

Her burial prayers at the Annur Mosque in Abuja were attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, as well as other family friends and allies.

The vice president expressed his condolences to the NNPCL GCEO and his family, praying for Fatima’s soul to rest in peace.

Shettima also asked God to give Mele Kyari and his family the strength they needed to cope with the loss of their daughter.

He said this in a statement made available to journalists by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President, Stanley Nkwocha.

Shettima also led the mourners who were at the funeral prayer for the response of the soul of Fatima.

The statement said, “Vice President Kashim Shettima has condoled with the family of the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Malam Mele Kyari, over the loss of his daughter, Fatima Kyari.

“Aged 25, the late Fatima passed away on Friday.

“VP Shettima, who prayed for the peaceful repose of the late Fatima, asked God to grant the family the strength to bear the painful exit of their daughter, who was in her prime.

“The Vice President led other mourners at the funeral prayers, which were held at the Annur Mosque in Abuja,” it added.
