Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has vowed to help Galatasaray secure the UEFA Europa League title after scoring in their 1-1 draw against AZ Alkmaar at the AFAS Stadion on Thursday.
Galatasaray faced a tough test against the Dutch side, who took the lead in just the second minute through Sven Mijnans. However, Osimhen responded with a crucial equalizer just before halftime.
His potential match-winner was later disallowed by VAR, leaving the Turkish champions to settle for a point.
Osimhen has now netted three goals in his last two Europa League outings and remains determined to help Galatasaray achieve European glory.
After the match, the Nigerian forward expressed his determination.
“I said I would score a goal, and I did. Now, I make another promise: I will bring the UEFA Cup to Turkey,” Osimhen declared.
Reflecting on the team’s performance, Osimhen acknowledged the challenges but remained optimistic.
“It feels good to score a goal. We left with one point and we will continue.
We may be a little tired mentally, we had a match four days ago, we may be tired mentally.
Our team’s performance was good. we remain unbeaten in Europe,” he added.
Osimhen’s commitment and form will be crucial as Galatasaray continue their quest for European success.
