Everton FC head coach Sean Dyche has expressed mixed feelings following Alex Iwobi’s exit, admitting he was disappointed to see the midfielder leave.
Iwobi, who joined Everton from Arsenal, became a key player under multiple managers throughout his five-year stint at Goodison Park.
However, after refusing to sign a new contract, the Midfielder transferred to Fulham FC earlier this season.
Returning to face his former team at Goodison Park on Saturday, Iwobi scored a goal but chose not to celebrate.
Following the game, Dyche reflected on his former Player’s impact.
“It was a good deal for the club, but I thought he was an excellent servant, certainly during my time here. I enjoyed having him around the place,” Dyche said.
“He was a joy to watch, a very good player in my opinion—not one I wanted to lose, but sometimes needs must.”
The former Arsenal star enjoyed a significant role at Everton, where he spent five seasons before his move to Fulham.
