Sevilla Manager Praises Iheanacho, but Calls for Improvement Following Villarreal Defeat
Sevilla manager, Javier Pimienta has expressed his admiration for Kelechi Iheanacho’s performance in the club’s 2-1 defeat to Villarreal on Friday night, while also emphasizing the need for improvement from the forward.
Iheanacho, who joined Sevilla as a free agent following his departure from Premier League club Leicester City, made a brief appearance as a late substitute during the match.
Despite only playing for thirteen minutes, the 27-year-old managed to make an impact, forcing Villarreal goalkeeper Diego Conde into a notable save in the closing moments.
“Perhaps he (Iheanacho) was the one who had the most problems because he played less time, but he moved very well in that difficult moment of the match and he had a very clear chance to score and the goalkeeper was able to stop that play,” Pimienta told Futbal Fantasy.
While Pimienta acknowledged Iheanacho’s impact after coming on, he also hinted at the expectation for the forward to elevate his game.
