Three Premier League Clubs Are Monitoring Ademola Lookman
English Premier League giants Liverpool, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly sent scouts to observe Atalanta and Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, potentially eyeing a move next summer.
According to TBR football’s Graeme Bailey, the EPL trio had their scouts in attendance during the recent UEFA Champions League match between Atalanta and Arsenal to watch Ademola Lookman.
“Tottenham, Liverpool, and Newcastle were all represented in Bergamo on Thursday,” the website reported.
The scouts’ main focus was to evaluate the progress of Ederson and Ademola Lookman, both of whom were closely monitored in the previous summer transfer window.
Lookman has been in fine form for Atalanta, scoring a total of 33 goals and providing 19 assists in 81 competitive appearances since joining the club. His impressive performance played a key role in Atalanta’s return to the UEFA Champions League after winning the UEFA Europa League trophy last season.
Recall that Lookman scored a hat-trick in the Europa League final, becoming the first player to achieve this feat since Jupp Heynckes in 1975. His outstanding performance in the 2023/24 season attracted interest from several clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus.
Despite missing the club’s first two games of the season, Lookman has returned with a strong start, scoring a goal and registering an assist in his first game. At 26, Lookman’s best years are still ahead of him, and with a repeat of last season’s performance, he is likely to attract significant attention in the upcoming transfer window.
