Top 5 Highest-Paid NFL Wide Receivers After CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys Extension

The Dallas Cowboys signed wide receiver CeeDee Lamb to a four-year, $136 million contract on Monday, making him the second-highest-paid receiver and non quarterback in the NFL, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Lamb’s contract includes $100 million guaranteed and a $38 million signing bonus, the highest signing bonus ever for a wide receiver.

Lamb is just the latest star receiver to sign a massive contract extension this offseason. With Lamb now signed, here are the top-five highest-paid receivers in the NFL based on average annual salary.

5. Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill

The 30-year-old receiver agreed to a new three-year, $90 million deal earlier this month. The deal included $65 million guaranteed. Hill previously signed a four-year, $120 million contract in 2022 when he joined the Dolphins. The new deal ensures that Hill, who led the NFL with 1,799 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2023, maintains his $30 million per year salary.

4. Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown

Following a breakout season for the Lions and St. Brown, the fourth-year receiver was rewarded with a four-year, $120 million contract, for a $30.02 million per year average. The former fourth-round pick set career-highs across the board a season ago, catching 119 receptions for 1,515 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was named a first-team All-Pro for the first time in his career.

3. Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown

The 27-year-old receiver was the recipient of a three-year, $96 million extension back in April, keeping Brown with the team through 2029. Brown now earns an average of $32 million per season.

Brown previously signed a four-year, $100 million contract with the Eagles in 2022 after he was shockingly traded to Philadelphia from the Tennessee Titans. This new contract increases Brown’s average salary per year by $7 million. Since joining the Eagles, Brown has recorded back-to-back 1,400-yard receiving seasons, making him one of the most productive receivers over this time.

1. Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson

Jefferson became the NFL’s highest paid wide receiver in June after signing a four-year, $140 million contract that included $110 million guaranteed. Jefferson is the NFL’s highest-paid non-quarterback, and earns an average of $35 million per year.

While Jefferson missed much of the 2023 season due to a hamstring injury, Jefferson still put up over 1,000 yards. He had already established himself as one of the best receivers in the NFL the season prior, when he led the NFL with 128 receptions for 1,809 yards, and was the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year. In every season that Jefferson has been fully healthy, he has put up at least 1,400 yards and made the Pro Bowl, making him deserving of his record-breaking contract.
