Total blackout as national grid collapses again
The Nigerian national grid has once again experienced a collapse, marking the third time in just one week.
The most recent incident occurred early on Saturday morning, leading to total blackouts in many states.
Data obtained from the Nigerian System Operator’s portal showed that the grid recorded zero megawatts at 9.20 am today.
This latest failure adds to the strain on the already fragile power system, following two previous collapses earlier in the week.
Businesses and households continue to bear the brunt of the nation’s unreliable electricity supply, exacerbated by the high cost and scarcity of fuel.
