Video Shows Moment SpaceX Polaris Dawn Mission Returns To Earth
SpaceX’s Polaris Dawn crew has returned to Earth after an historic mission that featured the first private spacewalk.
The Dragon capsule splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico near Florida’s Dry Tortugas in the early hours of Sunday.
“Splashdown of Dragon confirmed! Welcome back to Earth,” SpaceX wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
The crew was led by U.S. billionaire Jared Isaacman, who became the first non-professional astronaut to perform a spacewalk during the five-day orbit mission.
“We are mission complete,” Isaacman radioed mission control as the capsule floated in the water on Sunday morning.
This is a breaking story. More to follow.
