WATCH: Nigeria’s Dele Yusuf nets four goals as Vojvodina secure historic win over Novi Pazar in Serbia
Bamidele Isa Yusuf stole the show inside the Caizcoin Arena as Vojvodina strolled to an excellent 4-0 victory over Novi Pazar in their Serbian Super Liga clash on Friday, Soccernet.ng reports.
In a stunning man-of-the-match display, Yusuf netted all four goals for the visitors as they secured their sixth win in the 17-week-old league campaign.
Three Nigerians were named in the starting lineup for the two teams with Novi Pazar parading midfielder Adetunji Adeshina and goalkeeper Ajia Yakub, both 19 years old.
Goalkeeper Yakub could have done better when Yusuf opened the scoring for Vojvodina in the 19th minute with a fierce left-footed strike that took a slight deflection on the way to the top corner.
The two teams had decent chances to get on the scoreboard but none took it until Yusuf pounced in the 66th minute to double Vojvodina’s advantage.
The 23-year-old forward then struck again in the 75th and 78th minutes to inspire Nenad Lalatović’s men to a convincing victory.
It is the second time that Vojvodina will record a 4-0 win in the Super Liga this term, following a similar result against Spartak Subotica on October 6.
However, this is the biggest away victory that Vojvodina has ever recorded against Novi Pazar in the history of their Super Liga clashes.
With his four-goal haul against Novi Pazar, Yusuf has taken his tally for the season to eight goals in 16 appearances.
Only Red Star Belgrade and Senegal star Pape Cherif Ndiaye, with nine goals in ten games, has scored more goals than Yusuf in the Serbian top flight.
